Miller Lite

Miller Lite is one of the first brands I worked on where I really got to cut my teeth as a copywriter. I could fill one of those audaciously-sized mausoleums with all of the concepts, scripts and lines I came up with that had nowhere to go but an early grave. But I sure as hell learned a lot, and now I can tell you all about that one time I wrote Bell Biv DeVoe into a script, sang “Poison” in front of the CMO, and got exactly zero laughs out of everyone in the room. At least my boss loved it, though. Right?

“SEE & SAY” TV SPOT

It’s the one thing you’re always told not to do. “Don’t be see-say,” they say. But when Miller Lite released their “superhero” bottle we decided to break that one rule, creating a clever yet obvious misdirect. Shot by the director behind “Training Day.”

STAND UP! IT’S MILLER TIME

I should have an entire, multi-year campaign right here. But you see, Kevin Hart got a DUI from drinking Heineken and put the whole thing on hold. Long story short, we subbed out Kevin for Marlon Wayans and even though he was great, I could never get over what it would have been had it been done right. Oh well, here's a 2-page spread promoting year 1.
